Helluuuu lovelies!

Anyways, back to the “Having Too Much To Do” business.
For most part of it, I am making very good use of the time I am awake, but at night, that unsettled feeling of “I am missing on something, I am forgetting something” starts to creep in. Can you relate? Overwhelm anyone?

Argh, painful!

And that is when a very simple yet brilliant solution came flying into my inbox.

If you have been a Philofaxy follower for a while, no doubt you have heard of Ray Blake from My Life All in One Place. Yep, the genius partner in crime of Steve Morton.

Soooo, he presented to me a little mental clearing exercise he does every night before crashing down for the day. That is:

Put out on paper everything that is bugging you, anything that you need to do and/or any unfinished business of the day. Wherever comes to mind, write it down.

Don’t even think about categorizing or sorting it all out right away, you organizing freaks! πŸ˜€
The point is to just free the mind to let it rest for the day.

So simple and so perfect!

And he asked me if I could illustrate it for him…..*cough*…..

“OF COURSE!” I said! Why wouldn’t I illustrate such an awesome handy idea?

And with such PERFECT timing!
IΒ so needed this! Easy to do and keeps my mind at ease knowing that I don’t need to “hold that thought!” πŸ˜€

Ok, sweets here I present you Ray’s brilliant idea:

  • Very very straight forward to use:

Use all the plates spread throughout the page to write wherever things come to mind. Remember that you will check “what’s on your plate” on the next morning with a fresh rested mind so just pour it all out. No editing, just add each task/though/idea on each plate and have a great worry-free sleep! πŸ™‚

  • Leaving a sheet by the nightstand is even better.

You know those sneaky genius ideas that decide to show up rightΒ when you put your head on that fluffy pillow, right? So yeah, have a sheet of your plates handy to write them all out. And voilΓ‘! Your brilliant insights will still be there for you in the morning.

  1. what a great idea. I think it’s amazing that you just give away all your artwork this way – you’re very generous and they are always such great ideas – I especially like this one as I often have ideas just before I go to sleep that I just can’t remember in the morning!

    • Aaawww Nicola, thank you! I am so glad you appreciate my work. Those ideas ARE sneaky! It happens to me all the time. The ideas had the entire day to show up but decide to do so right when I am about to fall sleep! Tsctsc. πŸ˜€

  2. What a great idea. I’ve sort of been doing taht for a while now, but not as structured and not right before I go to bed. Will have to give that a try though.

  3. You are a genius! I cannot speak about how others deal with those last minute “gems” that pop into the head at the end of the day, but for me, this is going to be a life saver! Okay… That sounds a bit desperate and things are not that bad…. But, at 67, there is so much stuff in my head that I always have things that are buzzing around in my head before it is time to sleep and it never occurred to me to write them down, nor would I have come up with such a fun way to deal with it. Yes, you are a genius! A simple “thank you” is not enough, but it is what I can give. How come I didn’t find you sooner? My persistence paid off and I have found you now. Thank you for being “find-able”! Hugs! Di
